Copy the Threads post link
Open a public Threads post, tap Share, and copy the link. Full /post/ URLs, short /share/ links, and post codes all work.
ThreadsVideoDL is a free Threads downloader (Threads DL) for a public Threads video download. Save videos, photos, GIFs, carousels, and Reels from a public Threads link. HD or 4K when the post provides it — no watermark added, no login.
Paste a public post you have the right to save. Choosing Load media means you accept the Terms of Service.
Paste a public Threads URL above to preview videos, photos, Reels, and carousels.
Four steps, by URL, on iPhone, Android, PC, or Mac. No app required.
Open a public Threads post, tap Share, and copy the link. Full /post/ URLs, short /share/ links, and post codes all work.
Use Paste to drop the URL from your clipboard, or type it into Post URL, then choose Load media.
Check the files first. The label shows the size the post actually hosts, including HD or 4K only when that file exists.
Download the MP4, photo, GIF, or audio. On a carousel you can save one slide or every file.
A Threads video download starts from the post, not from a profile. On a phone, open the post, tap the share icon, and choose Copy link. The Threads app usually copies a short threads.com/share/… address. On a computer, you can also copy the longer threads.com/@username/post/… address from the browser bar. Both are a single public post. A profile URL, a search page, or the home feed is not enough, because those pages are not one file.
A bare post code is treated as a share link. If it was truncated, copy it again from Share. The same paste box covers photos, Reels, and audio.
One Threads downloader for the media types people actually save from public posts.
Public video posts as MP4, including clips people often call Threads videos or Threads DL files.
Still images in the resolution the post hosts — cleaner than a screenshot that captures chrome, battery, and crop.
Animated clips and GIF-style media from public posts, saved from the same paste-the-link flow.
Preview every slide, then download one image or the complete set in a single pass.
Short vertical videos use the same share link. Paste it above to load the Reel as an MP4.
After a public video loads, save the original soundtrack as M4A without a second converter site.
Text-only posts and profile photos are not files this tool saves. Stills are on the photo downloader, Reels on the Reels page, and sound on the audio page.
Save images and carousel posts in the resolution the public post already hosts.
Paste the same public link to download photos as JPG. Useful when a screenshot would add UI chrome or shrink the picture.
If a post has several slides, the preview lists each one. Save a single frame or download all photos from that carousel.
The download prefers the largest image that is not a square thumbnail, and it labels the pixel size. Captions are not written into the file.
A Reel on Threads is still a public video. Copy its share link and load it the same way you would any other post.
There is no extra app step. If you can open the Reel without logging in, you can paste the link here and save the MP4 when a public file is available.
A Reel that only opens after you log in cannot be fetched here. The downloader never asks for a Threads password.
ThreadsVideoDL does not stamp a logo on your file. Quality follows what the public post already provides.
You receive the media the post already hosts. If a creator burned in their own mark before uploading, that stays — this is not a watermark remover.
The label shows HD or 4K only if the source file is that size. We do not invent a higher resolution than the post has.
“Without watermark” on this site means we do not add a ThreadsVideoDL logo, end card, or overlay. It does not mean we erase a mark the creator placed in the picture. Removing someone else’s watermark is a different and usually unwanted tool, and this site does not do it. Read the no-watermark guide if you want the longer version of that distinction.
Need the soundtrack only? Save the original audio track after the public video loads. The file is M4A, the audio that is already inside the MP4.
Load the post first, then choose Save audio. ThreadsVideoDL remuxes the audio track into an M4A file. It does not run a lossy MP3 conversion inside the browser.
The soundtrack is saved as M4A so it is not re-encoded. Phones and VLC play it. For a literal MP3, convert the M4A in VLC. The audio page walks through a local MP3 conversion if you need that extension.
Use the browser you already have. No Play Store or App Store install is required.
Copy the link in the Threads app, paste it here in Safari, and save the video. From the Files app, use Share and Save Video if you want it in Photos. Safari is the reliable browser for this on iOS.
Paste the link in Chrome and save the MP4 to Files or Downloads. The same path works on Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Xiaomi, Redmi, OPPO, and other current Android phones. No APK is required.
Paste the URL in Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox and download to your computer. Files usually land in your Downloads folder. There is no desktop program to set up.
iPhone downloads often land in the Files app under Downloads, not straight in Photos. That is how Safari works. Long-press the file, tap Share, then Save Video. A private tab or a content blocker can interrupt the save. The iPhone guide lists the taps in order. Android is usually simpler: the notification shade or the Downloads folder in Files shows the MP4, and Gallery often picks it up. Details for Samsung, Pixel, and Xiaomi are on the Android guide.
On a computer there is nothing to install. Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari save into Downloads. The PC and Mac guide covers the case where the browser only plays the file in a tab.
Most people stay in the browser. Extra shortcuts are optional if you want fewer taps.
A small bookmark you keep in the browser bar can send the current Threads page into this downloader. Useful on a computer when you already have the post open.
An optional unpacked extension can sit in Chrome or Edge if you prefer a toolbar button. You never have to install one — this page works on its own.
There is no ThreadsVideoDL store app and no APK to sideload. Random “Threads downloader” APKs are a common place to pick up junk permissions. Use the browser.
On iPhone or Android, add this site to your home screen for one-tap access to the paste box. It is a shortcut, not a login wall.
The bookmarklet and the unpacked extension only open this website with the current Threads URL filled in. They do not read your password, your DMs, or your following list. Install steps and the bookmarklet code are on the extension page. Home-screen steps for iPhone and Android are on the app shortcut page. If you were about to install an APK from a forum, read the Android without an APK page first.
A home-screen icon is still this page. It does not create an account or keep a library of your files.
No signup, no login, and no daily download cap on public posts.
Phone, tablet, or computer — the paste box stays at the top of the page.
You never sign in to Threads here, and a download does not notify the author.
See the files first so you pick the right slide, Reel, or quality.
A recording can catch notifications and lower the picture. A download aims for the public file itself.
If you can view the post without logging in — even if you do not follow the account — the link can be tried here.
The page is static HTML plus a small paste-box script, so it stays light on a phone. Rate limits slow abusive bursts. They are not a quota on how many public posts you may save.
A practical comparison with the usual limits people run into. Names of other products are left off on purpose.
| Feature | Typical tools | ThreadsVideoDL |
|---|---|---|
| Cost and login | Limits or an account wall | Free, no account |
| Watermark | Sometimes branded by the tool | None added by us |
| Quality | One compressed file | The size the post hosts |
| Media | Video only | Video, photos, GIFs, carousels, Reels, audio |
| Links | Full URL only | /post/, /share/, and post codes |
| Extra install | Forced app or APK | Browser first; shortcut optional |
Videos save as MP4, photos as JPG or the original still type, GIF-style media as GIF when that is the file, and extracted audio as M4A.
Short public clips are usually ready as soon as the preview appears. A long video takes as long as your connection needs to fetch it. We do not queue you behind an account upgrade.
The card shows the pixel size we could read. Video is not re-encoded, and expired preview links need a fresh paste of the post URL.
Only save public posts you have a right to download. Copyright stays with the creator even when a file is technically reachable.
If a download looks like a program, a document, or anything other than a video, image, or audio file, do not open it.
The downloader only requests public Threads media hosts. Glance at the file type before you open it, and do not install a random downloader APK.
The post may be private, deleted, text-only, or the copied URL may be incomplete. Copy it again from Share.
Media links expire. Load the post URL again instead of retrying an old download button.
“No public video or photo” is the usual message when the account is private, the post was removed, or the link is a profile rather than a post. Logging in on this website will not change that. We do not accept session cookies or passwords. If the post is public and the error remains, wait a minute and paste the link again — brand-new uploads sometimes are not readable for a short time. A longer checklist is in the troubleshooting guide.
You are responsible for how you use saved media. Saving a public file is not the same as having permission to repost it, run ads on it, or claim it as your own.
This site does not bypass privacy settings, does not log into Threads, and is not affiliated with Meta or Threads.
Copyright in a video or photo stays with the creator or whoever they assigned it to. A public setting means other people can view the post. It is not a blanket license to republish it. If you want to use someone else’s clip in your own post, ask them. The legal guide covers that in more detail, and the Terms of Service are the rules for using this site. Copyright notices go to the DMCA page.
ThreadsVideoDL is an independent site for public posts you already have a right to keep. It is not a Meta, Threads, or Instagram product. Those names only describe which links the paste box accepts.

Short answers for the questions people ask about a Threads downloader — written for this site.
ThreadsVideoDL is a free online Threads downloader. Paste a public post link to save videos, photos, GIFs, carousels, Reels, and the original audio track in your browser. It is an independent site, not a Meta product.

No. This page is enough. A bookmarklet, an unpacked browser extension, or a home-screen shortcut is optional. There is no APK and no login.
Copy the post link from Share, paste it into Post URL, choose Load media, preview the file, and press Download. The same steps work for a photo or a Reel.
All three. A long /@username/post/ link, a short /share/ link from the app, and a bare post code are accepted. A profile link without a post is not.
We do not add a watermark. You receive the public file already hosted for that post. A mark the creator burned into the video stays, because this is not a watermark remover.
You get the rendition the public post hosts. The card says 720p HD, 1080p HD, or 4K only when the frame size matches. We do not upscale.
Yes. Photos, GIF-style files, and each slide of a carousel are listed separately when the public post contains them.

A download here does not send a notification to the author. You also never sign in to Threads through this site.
No. It is an independent website at threadsvideodl.com. Threads is named only to describe the public posts the tool can load.
You can extract the original audio as M4A, which is the soundtrack already inside the MP4. For a literal .mp3 file, convert that M4A in VLC. We do not re-encode to MP3 on the server.

No. If the post is public, you can try the link even when you do not follow the author.
No. This tool is for media inside public posts — videos, photos, GIFs, carousels, and Reels — not profile avatars.
No. You get the media file. The caption may be shown on the preview so you can confirm the post. Copy the text from Threads if you need it.
